Become a face people recognize, a face that makes them want to join a group of individuals "focused on guiding grant funds to advocate, educate, and provide awareness to positively impact the health and wellness of Allamakee County".

(If your agency has an event coming up or you know of an event you would like the  Allamakee Prevention Advisory  to be involved in, please email allamakeepreventionadvisory@gmail.com )

Allamakee Prevention Advisory In Action!

The Allamakee Prevention Advisory was able to attend the Allamakee County Fair Kid's Day Event on July 21st. Not only were we able to host a table, but we also had to opportunity to do a Hidden In Plain Sight event. During this event, individuals ages 18 and older were able to see a mock bedroom of a teenage boy. This was not just any bedroom though, this mock bedroom was filled with many different items such as vapes, booze tubes, Kratom, and many more items hidden in plain sight.  This prevention strategy gives adults the ability to recognize and become familiar with new drug trends while getting the education they need to better support their youth.

Hidden In Plain Sight

Our room may only look like a regular teen boy's bedroom, but look further and you will be surprised!

Jon and Colinne has a great time at the fair! They were able to get out in the community and talk about APA and our goals.
